Be Happy Racing Co SRAD Track Build

The project car is out of the workshop & down at my mates (Unit 3 Motorsports) to be turbo'd so the parts are in there ready to be built.

Why build one mega road bike when in all honesty, road riding is becoming more and more dangerous & insurance companies rinse modified bikes? So I decided to shove the 750 into the road bike (still ongoing) and build an "ultimate" track bike.

When I stuck a post up on my local page (Back By Lunchtime), a lad asked why I didn't go for a later GSXR swinger as it would drop in & be easier all round. I told him it was cost (I got my bits for £50) but then he convinced me that the parts he had for sale where worth it. I was told about another couple of frames, an Ohlins shock, some swingers, newer forks, billet parts and all sorts. For the price, I couldn't argue. Then another mate offered me his 750 engine & I snapped it up. An idea formed...

I hate the torsion bar on the SRAD. With a passion. They are a design from a bygone era & in my opinion, lazy as bikes of the same age ditched it. So I found a local guy who was breaking a ZX6R from the same era & so I bought the swingarm, caliper, caliper mount & shock with the intention of swapping it into the road bike (more on that later).
