BMW F650 HP1

Today I picked up the frame from the powder coating workshop. I’ve decided to paint it blue like other High Performance BMW bikes (HP2 and HP4) Can’t wait to put bake the wheels and the engine on this bike ! 😍

After checking the different sources of failure, it comes out that it’s the rotor/ignition sensor woodruf key which was broken, leading to wrong ignition spark timing. The problem is that it damaged the crankshaft extremity, so I had to buy a new crankshaft, and I’ll have to disassemble the entire engine 🤬

In 2005 BMW had a project for a BMW HP1 (high performance) powered by a 650cc Rotax engine, same kind currently present on the F650 ST. This HP1 bike will be my inspiration for my bike.

I bought this 1997 BMW F650 ST with a single cylinder Rotax engine this summer, with 101 000 km on the clock...for 400€. It was not starting but the price was quite cheap.
