LED brake light / signals added to the rear hoop along with a license plate mount. Bar end mirrors can be seen clearly here, as well.

Chopped the frame and welded a new hoop to mount the new seat. We also took this time to paint the headlight housing black and swap the cluster for a more modern and sleek speedometer.

@prodbycaleb_ found it on Craigslist in Silverton CO, a tiny town in the mountains. It was in great shape when we got it for only $600

Swapped the handlebars with something more reasonable and added new grips and levers to the left side. Waiting to update the right side in case I need to do any work to the brakes or throttle to get it running. Also removed the rear luggage rack thing.

So the gas tank was full of rust. I tried the ‘ole white-vinegar-and-a-handful-of-screws trick to remove as much as I could before coating the tank with 2 coats of POR-15. The inside of the tanks looks much better now. How do you guys suggest fixing a rusty tank?

After struggling to remove the original paint on the tank ourselves, we caved and had a local shop take over and paint it matte black. You’ll notice the new grips in this picture as well.
